Towson University Says Ex-Gymnastics Coach’s Bias Suit Baseless

Towson University asked a federal court Friday to dismiss claims by the school’s former women’s gymnastics coach that she was fired because of her gender, pregnancy, and in retaliation for reporting discrimination.

Victoria May was fired due to complaints made by student athletes, the university told the U.S. District Court for the District of Maryland.

May alleges that the student complaints against her, including racial discrimination, were based on gender stereotypes and that “a thorough and unbiased investigation” would have proven them to be untrue.
