A Republican senator blocked separate attempts to confirm two of President Joe Biden’s labor nominees through unanimous consent, likely delaying a final vote on the officials to sometime next year.
Sen. Mike Braun (R-Ind.) stopped efforts on the floor to unanimously confirm Jessica Looman as the US Department of Labor’s top wage regulator late Tuesday and Karla Gilbride as the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s general counsel on Wednesday.
