TikTok Worker’s Challenge to Trump’s Ban Rejected as Premature

A federal judge said it’s premature to grant a TikTok employee’s request to block President Donald Trump’s executive order prohibiting Americans from transactions with the social-media network and its Chinese parent.

In light of the Justice Department’s assurance this week that the government doesn’t intend to outlaw payment of wages or salaries for TikTok employees in the U.S., the judge said in a ruling that the worker’s fear of being prosecuted isn’t reasonable at this time.

U.S. District Judge Vince Chhabria in San Francisco denied employee Patrick Ryan’s request for a temporary restraining order against the administration.
