A restaurant owner in Big Spring, Texas, has pleaded guilty to employing and harboring undocumented workers.
According to plea papers, Voum Chhuon, 45, admitted he employed at least eight undocumented immigrants for his personal financial gain at the Texas Cajun Cafe. The workers were hired without filling out any paperwork or producing any proof they were authorized to work in the U.S., according to the Department of Justice.
The investigation began when the Department of Homeland Security received a tip from the Howard County Sherriff’s Office that Chhuon was employing undocumented workers at therestaurant.
