A Mississippi county may have jumped the gun when it fired a high school teacher-football coach after a nude photo of him was posted on the Ashley Madison website, the Fifth Circuit ruled April 17.
Matthew Wallace says he requested a hearing within the five days provided to him by the DeSoto County School District in his termination letter. The county, however, delayed his hearing date before ultimately canceling it, he says.
That may have amounted to a denial of due process under the U.S. Constitution if Wallace had a protected property interest in his teaching position, the appeals court...
