Senate Would Give Labor Department $13.8 Billion in 2023 Budget

A US Senate budget panel would provide $13.8 billion in base discretionary funding for the US Department of Labor for fiscal year 2023, and $319.4 million for the National Labor Relations Board.

The Senate budget proposals are dropped as agencies face a mounting regulatory agenda and staffing concerns. Fiscal 2023 begins Oct. 1, but Congress is expected to rely on a stopgap measure to keep the government running.

  • DOL’s Wage and Hour Division would receive $288.1 million under Senate Appropriations Committee proposal, and the Occupational Safety and Health Administration would receive $679.8 million—both less than the House’s funding proposal. ...
