Senate Panel to Vote on Labor Nominee Scalia Sept. 24

A Senate committee will vote Sept. 24 on whether to approve Trump labor secretary nominee Eugene Scalia for a final confirmation vote.

The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee scheduled the vote five days after Scalia will testify before the same panel at a confirmation hearing Sept. 19. The panel, and later the full Senate, is likely to approve along party lines the management attorney and son of former Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia.
