A Senate Appropriations subcommittee Sept. 18 released a government funding proposal that would ignore the White House’s request to trim spending for the Labor Department and National Labor Relations Board.
The bill would reject separate 12 percent cuts to DOL and labor board funding that the White House proposed in an annual budget request for 2020. It would instead provide $12.1 billion in discretionary funding for the DOL, $28 million above last year’s budget but more than $1 billion less than the House bill passed in June.
