Seasonal Worker Visas Reach Their Cap for Winter Season

Employers looking to claim additional seasonal worker visas outside the agriculture sector will have to wait a few months. All the low-skilled, seasonal worker visas have been used up for the first half of fiscal year 2018, the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services announced.

The USCIS on Dec. 21 said it has reached the cap of 33,000 H-2B visas for the first half of the fiscal year. Businesses may still apply for new H-2B worker visas, but generally only for work starting after April 1, 2018.
