San Francisco Lawmakers OK Ban on Retaliation Over Virus Leave

San Francisco lawmakers approved a measure that would establish a longer-term ban on employers retaliating against workers who take leave to recover from Covid-19 or to quarantine following exposure or perceived infection.

The Board of Supervisors voted 11-0 Tuesday to sign off on a proposal to convert an emergency ordinance enacted at the start of the pandemic into permanent law. The legislation’s provisions, if signed into law by Mayor London Breed, would last for two years
