PCC Structurals Welders Again Win Bid to Join Union (1)

PCC Structurals Inc. must recognize a labor bargaining unit of some 100 welders at three of its Oregon facilities, a National Labor Relations Board regional director said.

The ruling is a reversal of fortunes for the Portland, Ore.-based manufacturer, which in December had persuaded the NLRB to ditch its controversial Specialty Healthcare decision from 2011 and reset the test for determining the appropriate size of a unit of workers that can vote to unionize.
