OSHA Delays Injury Rule Deadline, Plans Review in 2018

OSHA is waiting until 2018 to decide which provisions of its electronic recordkeeping rule it will revise, such as making employers’ data public and restricting safety incentive programs, the agency said Nov. 22.

The agency’s review could determine whether employers continue to contest the rule in federal courts.

The announcement came at the same time the Occupational Safety and Health Administration said about 466,000 employers will have another two weeks to file their 2016 injury and illness summary reports as required by the rule.
