Older Black Christian BNY Compliance Officer Sues Alleging Bias

A Bank of New York Mellon regional executive harassed a 60 year-old Christian, Jamaican subordinate based on her age, national origin, race, and religion, the woman alleges in a new federal lawsuit.

Leonie Burke, who is light-skinned black, says race and age discrimination also caused her to be fired from her position as vice president/compliance officer effective June 2019, Burke says in the complaint filed Nov. 30 in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of New York.
