Oldcastle Building Envelope Settles DOL Hiring Bias Claims (1)

Oldcastle Building Envelope Inc. will pay $300,000 to settle Labor Department allegations of hiring bias against female and African-American job applicants in favor of white and male candidates.

The Labor Department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs alleged the discrimination occurred at an Oldcastle Building Envelope location in Georgia, according to an agency statement. The workers applied for glassworker production positions with the federal contractor.

The company also will offer jobs to 49 candidates affected by the alleged discrimination.

The OFCCP enforces federal equal employment opportunity laws for federal contractors, and has settled discrimination claims against Cisco Systems Inc. ...
