Ohio State University Fired HR Worker, 53, Because of Age: EEOC

The Ohio State University allegedly terminated a human resources generalist after 12 years and replaced him with a less qualified, significantly younger worker “amidst a workplace culture infected with age bias,” the EEOC says in a new federal lawsuit.

Alan Knox was 53 years old when he was fired by the university’s College of Education and Human Ecology. Knox’s discharge was part of an alleged reduction in force in which the only employees who lost their jobs besides Knox were both in their 60s, the suit says.
