NYC Retail Workers Gain Schedule Predictability Under Bill

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio is expected to sign a bill early next week that bans on-call scheduling for retail workers.

The bill, Introduction 1387, was passed by the city council May 24. It would ban on-call scheduling for retail workers in the city, ending a pervasive and exploitative practice, Stuart Appelbaum, president of the Retail, Wholesale and Department Store Union, said in a statement.
