Nurse Challenges CVS Contraceptive Policy in Religious Bias Suit (1)

CVS Health Corp. fired a nurse practitioner who refused to prescribe contraceptive and abortifacient drugs because of her Christian faith, according to a new lawsuit.

The complaint filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas joins similar federal religious discrimination suits brought by former CVS nurse practitioners in Virginia and Kansas. All were filed after CVS allegedly held a town hall in August 2021 where it deemed treatment for pregnancy prevention an essential function of MinuteClinic providers and nurses.
