Novartis Division to Pay $8M to End Sex Bias Case

Alcon Laboratories Inc., a division of Novartis Corp., has agreed to pay $8 million to roughly 2,000 female current and former employees to resolve allegations that it paid women less than men doing the same jobs and discriminated based on sex in promotions and job assignments, according to court documents (Dickerson v. Novartis Corp., S.D.N.Y., 1:15-cv-01980, proposed settlement 12/22/15).
