Northwestern Workers Want SCOTUS Review of Retirement Plan Case

Northwestern University employees who accuse the school of mismanaging their retirement plans want the U.S. Supreme Court to review the Seventh Circuit’s recent ruling against them.

April Hughes and other Northwestern employees say the top court should determine whether their allegations regarding excessive plan fees are sufficient to state a claim for breach of the duty of prudence under the Employee Retirement Income Security Act.

The earlier ruling by the Seventh Circuit “created a circuit split” that the Supreme Court should resolve, the petition for Supreme Court review says.
