NLRB Denies Target’s Appeal to Avoid Bargaining Unit

The National Labor Relations Board Nov. 3 denied Target Corp.'s appeal of a regional director’s decision to direct a representation election for a small unit of pharmacy workers at a store in Brooklyn, N.Y., letting the certification of a bargaining representative stand (Target Corp., NLRB, 29-RC-157687, order 11/3/15).

Following a 7-2 vote in favor of United Food and Commercial Workers representation in September, Regional Director James G. Paulsen of Region 29 in Brooklyn certified Local 342 as the representative of the 11 pharmacy employees 181 DLR A-14, 9/18/15.
