NLRB Asked to Challenge Union-Friendly Cannabis Licensing Rules

A leading conservative advocacy group asked the National Labor Relations Board to sue California, New York, and New Jersey to stop them from using cannabis licensing requirements to give unions organizing advantages.

Federal labor law overrides state measures calling for marijuana companies to enter into labor peace agreements with unions in order to obtain or maintain business licenses, the National Right to Work Legal Defense Foundation said in a letter to the NLRB Thursday.

“We urge the NLRB to take immediate action to preempt these laws,” the foundation said.
