NLRB Aims to Centralize Decision-Writing for Election Cases

The National Labor Relations Board wants to centralize the writing of pre-election decisions in union representation cases that the agency’s 26 regional offices currently handle, a top NLRB official said.

That move fits with the NLRB’s continuing efforts to consolidate job functions across the agency, Deputy General Counsel Alice Stock said during an appearance Thursday at an American Bar Association conference in Puerto Rico. The agency needs to be like private sector firms, which have moved toward leaner staffing, more resource sharing, and increased flexibility, she said.
