The operator of New York’s E-ZPass toll collection system and an employment agency will collectively pay $120,000 and provide other relief to settle an EEOC disability discrimination lawsuit, the agency said Thursday.
The employment agency, Broadleaf Results Inc., allegedly hired an employee to work as a customer service representative at Conduent State and Loacl Solutions Inc.'s Staten Island, N.Y., center. Broadleaf then allegedly fired her after she requested an accommodation for her hearing-related condition in violation of the Americans with Disabilities Act, according to the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
