New York Again Postpones 2% Pay Hikes for State Workers

New York will again delay a 2% raise for state workers as it battles a growing budget deficit from the coronavirus pandemic.

Leaders of the Civil Service Employees Association, which represents more than 60,000 state employees, said the state is postponing across-the-board pay hikes for those workers for another three months.

The state budget office attributed the need to postpone the raises on a lack of federal relief funding.
