New Prime Truckers Get $28 Million to End Wage Suits

New Prime Inc. agreed to pay $28 million to settle two Fair Labor Standards Act and Missouri wage suits alleging it shortchanged thousands of truck drivers, after more than five years of litigation and a trip to the U.S. Supreme Court.

The proposed deal allocates about $19.5 million to the drivers and up to $9.46 million to class counsel for attorneys’ fees and litigation costs, according to the motion for preliminary approval submitted Monday to Judge Patti B. Saris of the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts.
