New Jersey Medical Marijuana User Can Sue Employer for Bias (1)

A funeral director in New Jersey can pursue claims that his employer violated the state’s employment bias law when it fired him after learning he uses medical marijuana to treat his cancer, a state appeals court ruled.

The 2010 New Jersey Compassionate Use Medical Marijuana Act doesn’t conflict with or take away any rights previously granted to workers under New Jersey’s Law Against Discrimination, the court said March 27.
