New Jersey Bill to Penalize Offshoring of Call Centers

Moving call centers out of New Jersey to cheaper locations abroad could become more difficult under a bill approved by a state legislative committee Oct. 18.

Under A-1992, employers that shift New Jersey call centers overseas would forfeit all state incentives and could be fined up to $7,500 per day if they don’t notify the state of the move.
