Nevada Strip Club Owner Faces Liability for Failing to Pay Wages

The owner and manager of a Nevada strip club face individual liability as employers under the Fair Labor Standards Act for allegedly failing to pay dancers an hourly wage, the District of Nevada ruled.

Manager Peter Feinstein and owner David Michael Talla have sufficient control over the employment relationship to fit the definition of “employer” under the FLSA, the court said.

The dancers are “employees” entitled to minimum wages, but they will need to prove at trial that Feinsten and Talla willfully violated the FLSA, the U.S. District Court for the District of Nevada said Sept. 6.
