Muslim Pharmacist Fails to Revive Harassment, Prayer Break Suit

Advocate Christ Medical Center in suburban Chicago was properly granted judgment on an Egyptian Muslim pharmacist’s hostile environment claim and he was too late to change arguments on his religious accommodation claim, the Seventh Circuit ruled.

Mohammed Mahran was correct that a lower court failed to consider all his evidence that he was harassed because of his race, national origin, and religion, the court said. The trial judge only weighed allegedly offensive comments by Mahran’s colleagues and didn’t also weigh evidence of disparate treatment Mahran allegedly experienced, it said.
