Monterey Deputy District Attorney Settles Bias Suit During Trial

Monterey County, Calif., and a deputy district attorney settled his claims that he was discriminated against, harassed, and faced retaliation because of his diverticulitis, federal court records show.

The US District Court for the Northern District of California stated in civil trial minutes entered Monday in Richard Storms Jr.'s case that the suit was “voluntarily dismissed, with prejudice, with each side to pay own fees and costs.”

The terms of the settlement were stated on the court record and the court will “retain jurisdiction to enforce settlement terms,” according to the minutes. The development came during the sixth day of ...
