Millennials Need Help to Thrive in Gig Economy, Lawmakers Told

Federal assistance with access to portable benefits could help millennials thrive in the gig economy, small business and workforce advocates told a House panel June 6.

The testimony came in a House Small Business Committee hearing on how involvement of members of the millennial generation is changing small businesses and the gig economy. The burgeoning gig economy workforce is largely aided by millennials, who face such issues as limited financial resources and access to social services, witnesses testified.
