A group of migrant workers and workers’ rights organizations Feb. 18 renewed their call for the Mexican government to consult with the U.S. government over allegations that operation of the H-2A and H-2B visa programs violates the North American Agreement on Labor Cooperation.
“We are calling on the Mexican and U.S. governments to move quickly and finalize a plan for the ministerial consultations and issue a ministerial declaration,” Sarah Rempel, policy director for Centro de los Derechos del Migrante (CDM), said in a statement. “While governments continue to delay, migrants suffer.”
