Michigan ‘Prevailing Wage’ Supporters Snubbed by State High Court

The Michigan Supreme Court likely sounded the death knell for the state’s prevailing wage law by dismissing an appeal that would have blocked the Legislature from voting to strike the law. The statute affects public construction projects.

The May 30 court order dismissed a challenge to signatures collected during a repeal ballot petition drive. The challenge was made by Protect Michigan Jobs, a coalition of unions.
