AutoZone Investment Corp. was wrongly granted a win in former employee’s sexual orientation bias and retaliation case because the Miami-Dade County Code allows workers to sue in court for discrimination, a Florida appeals court ruled.
The code as originally enacted in 1997 didn’t authorize private causes of action by workers, but the county commission amended it in 2006, the Florida Court of Appeals, Third District said.
