Maryland Lawmakers Approve Wage Hike to $15 by Veto-Proof Margin

Maryland lawmakers approved a bill that would boost the state’s minimum wage to $15 per hour within six years.

The state House of Delegates and Senate gave final approval March 20 to S.B. 280, which would raise the state’s wage floor from its current level of $10.10 per hour to $11 next year, with additional increases each year until the $15-per-hour level was reached in 2025.

Companies with fewer than 15 employees would have additional time to meet the wage schedule.
