A male Purdue University ROTC student who was suspended after an investigation found that he sexually assaulted a female student can try his claims alleging the university discriminated against him based on sex, a federal court in Indiana said.
John Doe was suspended for a year in June 2016 after a panel found he had assaulted fellow midshipman Jane Doe.
He was expelled from the Navy Reserve Officers’ Training Corps program in August 2016. Following his one-year suspension, Doe didn’t return to Purdue.
