House Democrats will reintroduce a bill to expand LGBT discrimination protections March 13, two days before the Supreme Court could take up a related legal question that has already divided the Trump administration.
The Equality Act would ban sexual orientation and gender identity bias on the job and by public accommodation providers, such as hotels, restaurants, banks, health-care facilities, and funeral homes. The measure is likely to move in the House with wide Democratic support, but its future is uncertain in the Republican-controlled Senate.
