Lamar University Prevails in Worker’s Disability Bias Lawsuit

Lamar University won a disability discrimination lawsuit brought by an assistant professor with cerebral palsy, after a Texas appeals court ruled there wasn’t any evidence that she suffered adverse employment actions because of her disability.

To prove that she was treated less favorably than those “similarly situated” non-protected class members, Joy Del Snook had to provide evidence that able-bodied professors were treated better than her. But she failed to point to a relevant comparator, the Texas Court of Appeals, Ninth District said Thursday.
