Labor Department Releases New Measures of Training Grant Success

The US Labor Department’s training arm has released two final rules outlining how the agency will measure the performance of grant recipients under its core job training system, the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act.

The rules (RIN:1205-AC01, RIN:1205-AC08) released by the Employment and Training Administration on Thursday clarify that the DOL and other agencies that implement WIOA — like the Department of Education — will use evidence of a participant’s continued employment with a business to help gauge whether a job training program is effectively serving employers who are seeking workers.
