The Labor Department created a new office with the mission of helping employers comply with labor law, a DOL spokeswoman confirmed to Bloomberg Law.
The Office of Compliance Initiatives will work with other enforcement agencies to improve regulatory compliance and enforcement, and it will provide liaisons with employers to explain or assist in the process. The office will be under the scope of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Policy. Its funds will come from the DOL’s existing budget.
