The International Association of Machinists had sought to organize 87 tool-and-die workers at the Nashville-area automotive plant, but a National Labor Relations Board acting regional director ruled in June that the union would have to organize a wall-to-wall union of 4,300 workers.
The union appealed the decision to the full board, which agreed to review the case in a party-line decision Tuesday.
