KPMG, Other Companies Settle Claims of Bias Against Non-Citizens

Auditing firm KPMG LLP and 15 other employers have settled with the Justice Department over job postings on a college career services website that allegedly discriminated against non-US citizens.

KPMG allegedly posted 74 such discriminatory advertisements on the platform, which is operated by the Georgia Institute of Technology, the DOJ announced Monday. The company agreed to pay more than $306,000 as part of a settlement with the government.

DOJ’s Civil Rights Division began investigating discriminatory job postings on the platform after receiving a complaint from a lawful permanent resident that an employer advertised a position only for US citizens.
