Kentucky Miners Block Coal Train After Bounced Checks

Bounced checks for miners have sent protesting workers to the train tracks for the second time in a year, holding up coal that workers weren’t paid for extracting from the Kentucky earth.

The Kentucky General Assembly will do everything it has to in order to get payment for the roughly 50 workers who are alleged to have been denied paychecks by Quest Energy, a subsidiary of American Resources Corp., Senate President Robert Stivers (R) said in a speech Jan. 14 on his chamber’s floor.
