Kentucky Lawmakers Drop Suit Against Alleged Sex Assault Victim

Kentucky legislators accused of sexual harassment have dropped a lawsuit against their alleged victim in which they accused the former legislative staffer of violating a nondisclosure agreement by discussing the alleged workplace misbehavior with supervisors.

Former Kentucky House Speaker Jeff Hoover (R), who’s still in the Legislature, Republican Rep. Michael Meredith and former Rep. James DeCesare (R) dismissed their complaint against the former staffer. They previously paid the former staff $110,000 in a legal settlement to keep quiet about the allegations of sexual harassment in the Kentucky Legislative Research Commission.
