JBS Beef Workers in Colorado Get Raise After Work Stoppage

Workers at JBS USA‘s beef plant in Greeley, Colo., beset by Covid-19, will receive a $1.85 an hour wage hike after they staged a work interruption over their pay.

United Food and Commercial Workers Local 7, which represents more than 3,000 workers at JBS Greeley, said Monday the pay increase is being done without reopening the contract, a victory for the union members. The union is demanding that more be done to protect workers at the facility, which saw more than 300 confirmed Covid-19 cases and six deaths among plant workers.
