Government Employee Union Mulls Lawsuit Over Shutdown (1)

A union representing government employees is considering suing the federal government for making employees work without pay during the partial government shutdown, Bloomberg Law has learned.

The American Federation of Government Employees, which represents more than 670,000 federal employees, is mulling a lawsuit under the Fair Labor Standards Act, which requires that employers make a good-faith effort to pay minimum wage and overtime on time.
