Football Coach Asks Justices to Revive Midfield-Prayer Lawsuit

A football coach who says a Washington state school district violated free speech and free exercise laws by disciplining him for praying at midfield after games, despite being told to stop, asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review the dismissal of his lawsuit.

Former Bremerton High School assistant coach Joe Kennedy says his faith-based practice of briefly praying at the 50-yard line in the post-game hubbub is the sort of private religious act protected by the U.S. Constitution.
