Flowers Foods, Bread Distributors Reach $8 Million Wage Deal

Flowers Foods Inc., which makes Nature’s Own and Tastykake, and subsidiary Franklin Bakery Co. struck an $8.4 million deal with more than 250 distributors who sued for unpaid overtime and business expenses under the Fair Labor Standards Act and North Carolina law, according to federal court filings.

The joint motion for preliminary settlement approval and state-law class certification was submitted Tuesday to Judge Louise W. Flanagan of the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of North Carolina.
