Female Denver Law Professors to Get $2.6M on Pay Bias Claims

A group of female law professors at the University of Denver will receive more than $2.6 million in back pay to compensate them for years of alleged sex-based pay discrimination.

The payment will come under a settlement between the U.S. government and the university’s Sturm College of Law. The government, through its Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, sued the university in 2016 alleging it paid a class of female law professors significantly less than their male counterparts for equal work. The settlement was approved by the U.S. District Court for the District of Colorado May 17.
