The federal agency that oversees labor relations for government workers will file a charge against the Department of Education for allegedly walking away from labor negotiations and unilaterally imposing new terms of employment on workers.
The Federal Labor Relations Authority has informed the American Federation of Government Employees that it found sufficient evidence to file a charge, the AFGE announced July 25. The action wouldn’t be a formal finding that the Education Department has violated labor laws, but it does mean that the FLRA found preliminary evidence to support the union’s allegations.
